FOCUS

“What were you thinking?!?!” Have you ever been asked that as a kid, adolescent or adult? If so, something tells me it wasn’t usually accompanied by a gentle voice & tender smile :-) …

Perhaps a better question, especially as it pertains to today’s message, is “What are you thinking?” Since we’re always thinking about something, we really need to think about what we’re thinking about. We must acknowledge & embrace the truth that in Christ we are called to think & to act upon what we know & believe.

Never underestimate the power & potential of your mind. Never forget how important it is to welcome any input, insight & information from God.

God Created Our Minds for Us to …

1. think right thoughts about Him, us, everyone & everything.

To know & love God & people is our mind’s greatest purpose & achievement.

John 1:1 Philippians 4:4-9 (esp v8) Psalm 19:1-4a & Romans 1:18-20

2. to experience renewal, redemption, salvation & sanctification.

God intends for us to know this as fully as can be in our lives today.

Romans 12:1-2 Colossians 1:13-14 Ephesians 4:17ff / 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Making It Real

1] Are you convinced this is true?

2] How biblically informed are you concerning each of these realities?

Action Step

Memorize the verse or passage in this message that spoke the most to you.

Prayerfully & specifically apply it to your life daily this coming week.
